Where were you born and how long have you been with Arizona Music Pro?
CS: I was born in Flagstaff, Arizona and I have been at Arizona Music Pro for 25 years as a Sales Associate and Music Educator. It’s been a great place to learn and grow!
How many instruments do you play and please name them?
CS: I play dozens of instruments including; Piano, Organ, Mellotron, Synthesizers, Bass, Guitar, Lap Steel, Pedal Steel, Weissenborn, Banjo Guzheng, Koto, Harmonica, and Melodica.
When did you start your music journey?
CS: When I was 5 years old I was in the audience at a Johnathan Richman concert and the Drummer threw me a drum stick and I said that I needed two to play like him. My father is a percussionist and there were hand drums all around the house but with the new sticks I was banging on anything that would make an interesting sound. In my early teens my parents got me an electric guitar and later a Hammond Organ. I learned by imitating what I heard on tapes and CDs and asking local musicians about music theory.
Give us the name of your band and the members?
CS: Black Lemon is comprised of Robert and Destiny Diaz (Guitar and Vocals), Karly Gilbert (Bass and Vocals), Mike Seitz (Drums and Vocals), and myself (Guitar). We are currently recording a new album!
What genres of music do you all play?
CS: It’s an eclectic mix of Rock, Pop, Reggae, Blues, and Folk with a majority of original music.

Who are some of your favorite artists or groups?
CS: Medeski Martin and Wood were a big part of my search for new and old sounds and inspired me to collect vintage keyboards. I listened to a lot of the Grateful Dead growing up and I have always loved the sense of adventure that they approach life and music with.
What are your music plans for the future?
CS: I will be recording a solo album in 2025 with some songs from my past and some that have yet to be composed. I have always been a collaborator and I am excited to see what surfaces when I am not bouncing ideas back and forth with with another person or group.
In closing is there anything you would like to say?
CS: Yes! Go listen to David Bixby’s new record- Terraferma (Welcome to Earth) which I had the pleasure of engineering, co-producing, and playing on a few tracks! Keep an eye and an ear on my Instagram @cetasingleymusic for new developments and updates.
