The Sci-fi Neo-Western television series ‘OUTER RANGE’, starring Josh Brolin, features Dave Bixby’s ‘Time to Clear Your Mind’ on the soundtrack to the latest season. Bixby’s music adds a solemnity and sense of self-reflection and introspection to a scene following a brief fight taking place in the back of a bar.
Outer Range, created by Brian Watkins, is about a Wyoming rancher named Royal Abbot who is fighting for his land and family when he discovers a mysterious black void in the pasture after the arrival of Autumn, a drifter with a connection to Abbot’s ranch, while the family copes with the disappearance of their daughter-in-law. They are pushed further to the brink when a rival family tries to take over their land.
Fans describe Outer Range as a Sci-fi Western Drama that blends Yellowstone and The Outer Limits with just a dash of Twin Peaks.
The ensemble cast includes Josh Brolin, Imogen Poots, Lili Taylor, Tom Pelphrey, Tamara Podemski and Lewis Pullman. The full series can be viewed on Amazon Prime Video with the second season having premiered on May 16th, 2024.
