Hello Mr. Bixby! Just wanted to show my love for you and your music. I truly feel God’s presence when I listen to the album! I first heard Morning Sun back in 2020 but didn’t listen to the full album until this year… I feel like God wanted me to wait and experience it during a time where I needed it most. But I also can’t believe I’ve gone so long without knowing about this album because I don’t know who’d I be without it now! Thank you for Ode To Quetzalcoatl, and thank God for giving you this amazing gift.
P.S. I’ve attached a picture of me (including silly twitter stickers) with the vinyl, CD and t-shirt I got from your eBay store 🙂
P.P.S. May I ask why you chose Ode To Quetzalcoatl as the album name? I love it and wanna know your reasoning, thanks again!

Naomi, Thanks for sharing. I did a concert tour of Europe last March and will be going to Spain this March. The record has proceeded me world wide. The legend of Quetzalcoatl proclaims him to be a Christ-like person roaming Mexico and South America.
Thanks for the picture.

That’s awesome! I hope you have a great time in Spain! I thought that was your reasoning, thank you for confirming. The idea of Jesus being amongst my ancestors brings me comfort, I love that legend!
I also wanted to ask; I saw a mini documentary on YouTube and learned about you and your history with the cult and how your music was used in it. In the video (at 13:24) they asked how you’re able to play your music after all that has happened and you replied saying you look at the album as if somebody else wrote it and you look at what other people get out of it. Do you still see it that way, that someone else wrote it? And do you no longer relate to your story on the back of the record? I am curious to know your beliefs now. To be honest I felt a little embarrassed saying all that stuff about God after finding out that you may not identify with those sentiments anymore… My appreciation for you and your music still stands regardless!
Thank you for your time!

Naomi,
In 1974, after leaving the cult I studied most Christian denominations by attending and fellowshipping for the last 50 years. All have Cult qualities. To my disappointment I found most Christians I do business with are untrustworthy, playing the Jesus card with a contemporary spin on the bible. Keeping your word does not seem to be a priority. I have compared many Bible translations and they don’t all agree. Most church denominations don’t agree, So I go it alone! Too much confusion. As a result my relationship with Christ the Word is the only one I place my faith in. The man Jesus was the vessel for Christ the Spirit. We can be vessels for the same spirit. Quetzalcoatl embodies this spirit. That’s my story and I’m sticking to it.

I feel the same way about churches and the Bible… Thank you for sharing your story, I resonate with it very much! Talking to you has been such a pleasure, thank you once again for your time Mr. Bixby! You’re an inspiration!
