Chelsie Nicole is a singer-songwriter with a wide presence on social media. Harbinger Magazine has the opportunity to Interview her. She sings her songs and accompanies herself with guitar. Let’s find out more about her in this interview. Chelsie, thank you for granting us the chance to get to know you better.
Where were you born and where do you live now?
I was born in Columbus, Ohio and currently live in a small town called Ashville, Ohio. Go Vikings!
When did you start playing the guitar and what other instruments do you play?
I was always around music and all kinds of instruments growing up. My Papaw used to sing and play with several bluegrass singers and bands all of my life; Bill Monroe and Ralph Stanley are just a couple to name off the top of my head. So my curiosity to learn the guitar started at a very young age. However, I did not learn to play my first song on the guitar until I was 14 years old and since then I have not stopped.
You have a great country voice; would you consider yourself a country singer?
Thank you! I was raised on bluegrass and older country music. I cannot hide my accent, so yes, I would consider myself a country singer. I ‘cain’t’ hide my twang. haha
Who are some of your favorite singers and bands you listen to?
Some of my favorite singers and bands that I listen to are Rhonda Vincent, Ralph Stanley, Vince Gill, Loretta Lynn, Sara Evans.. That’s to just name a few. But right now on my playlist, I would have to say it’s Paul Overstreet that I’m listening to the most at the moment.
Tell us about your original single release?
I have written many songs since I learnt to play the guitar. This particular song is about someone very special in my life, whose inspiration led to an unexpected quick production. It’s about not settling for anything less than this special person and learning what I truly deserved in life. I’d say it’s also about unconditional love, learning who you can count on.
David Castle recorded you in his studio. What was that like?
Yes, I recorded with David Castle in Castlewood, Virginia at Castle Recording Studio. David is a very kind soul with talent beyond his years! Right away he heard my vision for my song. We have already talked about working with each other again very soon. It was a real pleasure to have David a part of my project!

We see you perform live as a solo and with other musicians. What are your music plans for the future?
I perform live as a solo artist as well as with other musicians. But my plans for the future is to find a full-time band and to start traveling all over.
